A new SWF Krantechnik hoist in place of the worn-out unit — the core of any modernization. Better brakes, more precise positioning and spare parts available for decades ahead.
Frequency inverters on hoisting and travel motions — smooth start-up and braking without jerks. Easier on the machinery, the load and the operator’s nerves.
From a cabin or pendant control to radio remote control — the operator stands next to the load, not under it. We also add safety devices so the crane passes the examination without reservations.
New wiring, conductor lines and switchgear instead of a 40-year-old electrical installation — no more chasing faults that cannot be diagnosed.
When replacing the controls you can add SWF Crane Intelligence features — load sway damping, tandem control or wear monitoring.

Modernisation pays off when the load-bearing structure and crane runway are in good condition — you only replace the hoist, drive or control system. The price is usually 30–60 % of a new crane and you avoid structural modifications to the hall. We recommend a new crane when the capacity, span or bridge condition require it.
Most often replacement of the hoist with a modern SWF unit, installation of frequency inverters (smooth starts), radio remote control, new electrical installation, replacement of brake systems and addition of safety devices (load limiter, limit switches).
The on-site modernisation itself takes 1–3 weeks depending on scope — from hoist replacement (1–2 days) to complete refurbishment. We plan the work so that crane downtime is as short as possible.
Yes, after any major repair or modernisation an expert examination (revision) is required under Slovak Decree 508/2009. We arrange the official examination with the authorised institution. Delivery includes an inspection report.
Yes, by replacing worn components and modernising the control system you extend the crane's life by another 10–15 years. After modernisation you get new warranties on replaced parts, lower energy consumption and higher safety.
