What is the difference between the NOVA² and NOVA¹ wire rope hoists?
NOVA² is the modernised version with a more compact design, lower weight and higher efficiency. Capacity up to 20 t, standard on new cranes. NOVA¹ is the proven classic up to 80 t, still available for demanding applications and as a replacement for older models.
What is a CRABster and what is it used for?
CRABster is a crab — a compact unit that travels along the crane bridge and contains both the hoisting mechanism and the travel drive. Capacity up to 250 t, used in heavy industry, steelworks and energy.
Do you supply wire rope hoists for explosive atmospheres?
Yes, the SWF NOVAex hoist is certified for ATEX zones 1, 2, 21 and 22 per Directive 2014/34/EU. All components are in Ex version including the motor, brake and limit switches.
How do I choose the right size of wire rope hoist?
The decisive parameters are load weight, required lifting height, hoisting speed and duty class (FEM/ISO). We also consider the environment (indoor/outdoor, temperature, dust, ATEX). Based on your data we propose the optimal type.
Can you supply spare parts for SWF wire rope hoists?
Yes, as an authorised SWF Krantechnik partner we supply genuine spare parts for all NOVA, CRABster and NOVAex models — brakes, couplings, ropes, drums, pulleys and control modules. Most parts can be delivered within 1–2 weeks.
