Warehouse Building Engineering Standards
Building geometry and clear heights are optimized for pallet racking heights and material handling equipment. See also our production halls with cranes and turnkey cost guide.
| Parameter | BUREX Warehouse Building Standard |
|---|---|
| 01 Structural framing | Rigid portal frames or truss systems with wide clear spans (up to 36+ m column-free interior) |
| 02 Cladding & thermal insulation | Insulated PUR / PIR sandwich panels (80–160 mm thickness for climate-controlled storage) or single-skin steel sheets |
| 03 Clear height | Optimized for multi-tier racking systems and forklift clearances (typically 6 m to 12+ meters) |
| 04 Industrial concrete floor | Fiber-reinforced slabs engineered to DIN 18202 tolerances for high point loads from heavy racking posts |
| 05 Logistics equipment | Electrically operated sectional overhead doors, dock levelers, inflatable shelters and ramp levelers |
| 06 Fire rating & life safety | Intumescent steel coatings, mineral wool insulated panels (EI 60–EI 120), automated smoke & heat exhaust roof vents |
| 07 Turnkey delivery | Design + civil works & flooring + steel fabrication EN 1090-2 (EXC-3) + envelope + statutory handover |
02 / Design Advantages
Why Choose a BUREX Prefabricated Warehouse
Unobstructed floor space, low thermal transmission and high-strength industrial flooring.
- 01
100% Unobstructed interior floor space
Column-free wide clear spans allow maximum layout flexibility for racking aisles, automated storage retrieval and dispatch staging areas.
- 02
High thermal performance & product protection
PIR rigid foam sandwich panel envelopes protect sensitive goods, electronics, pharmaceuticals and perishable items from temperature swings and moisture.
- 03
Flooring engineered for heavy racking loads
We engineer laser-screeded jointless concrete floor slabs capable of withstanding extreme point loading from high-bay pallet racking uprights.
- 04
Rapid construction & operational commissioning
Precision shop fabrication enables rapid on-site bolted assembly, allowing your logistics operations to start months ahead of conventional construction.
03 / Budget & Calculation
Warehouse Cost Drivers & Budgeting
Budgets reflect building footprint, local snow load zones, insulation thickness and floor load capacities.
Turnkey warehouse package inclusions:
- Structural Design & Eurocode Sizing: Complete engineering to local environmental conditions.
- Substructure & Slab Works: Concrete pads and fiber-reinforced slab flooring designed for heavy racking point loads.
- Steel Framing to EN 1090-2 (EXC-3): Portal frames, purlins and bracing systems with protective coatings.
- Insulated PIR Envelope: Wall and roof sandwich panels with flashings and trim packages.
- Industrial Doors & Dock Systems: Insulated sectional overhead doors with electric drives.

05 / FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between insulated and non-insulated warehouse buildings?
Non-insulated single-skin steel buildings provide weather protection for bulk commodities and raw materials. Insulated buildings feature PUR/PIR sandwich panels (80–140 mm) maintaining steady temperatures for e-commerce, pharma and food storage.
What building heights are recommended for modern racking systems?
Standard pallet racking requires 6–8 meters clear height. High-bay automated storage requires 10–14+ meters. We customize spans to match exact racking row spacing.
Can you incorporate material handling cranes inside the warehouse?
Yes. As a crane manufacturer, we regularly integrate overhead travelling cranes or underslung monorails for unloading flatbed trucks and moving heavy cargo.
How can I obtain a turnkey proposal and cost estimate?
Send us your required floor area (e.g. 20×50 m), required clear height and project location. We will provide an engineered layout and budget quotation.
Engineering proposal
Planning a new warehouse or logistics hub?
Send us your footprint dimensions and storage requirements. We will engineer an all-inclusive proposal.
