01 / Solution types

Jib crane types we design and manufacture

Three arrangements, depending on where you handle loads.

Free-standing pillar jib crane

up to 10 t
  • Dedicated column anchored to the floor or a concrete foundation.
  • Boom rotation up to 360° — covers the full circular area around it.
  • The most versatile solution for workstations and assembly stations.

Wall-mounted (cantilever) jib crane

up to 5 t
  • Fixed to a hall column or a load-bearing wall — takes up not a metre of floor.
  • Rotation of 180–270° depending on the mounting position.
  • Ideal over machine tools, workbenches and loading docks.

Underslung cantilever jib crane

up to 2 t
  • Boom suspended from the hall structure or the crane runway.
  • Serves the lower level below an overhead crane without collision.
  • For workshops with two handling levels.

02 / Technical parameters

Jib crane specifications

We size every crane to your handling task — paying for capacity you will never use makes no sense.

SWF chain hoists

Technical parameter Range and solution specification
01 Load capacity 125 kg – 10 t depending on type and boom
02 Boom (outreach) 2 – 12 m, steel profile or lattice construction
03 Rotation angle Pillar up to 360°, wall-mounted 180–270°, lockable in any position
04 Hoist SWF ATHLO / CHAINster chain hoists (up to 5 t), SWF NOVA wire rope hoists at higher capacities
05 Drive Manual chain pulling or electric travel of the boom and hoist
06 Anchoring Anchor plate with chemical anchors, concrete foundation or hall-column mounting — always after structural verification
07 Standards Manufactured in accordance with EN 1090-2, designed and calculated to EN 13001

03 / Applications

Where a jib crane pays off the most

Anywhere loads are lifted repeatedly in one spot — and a forklift is too slow or does not fit.

Light crane systems

  • 01

    Workstations and assembly lines

Serving a single workstation — lifting a workpiece off a pallet, positioning it during assembly, setting down the finished part.

  • 02

    Machine tools

Loading and unloading lathes, mills and grinders. Precise positioning of heavy workpieces directly over the machine.

  • 03

    Warehouses and shipping

Loading docks and order picking. Handling packages, crates and parts without waiting for a forklift.

  • 04

    Welding and fabrication

Turning weldments and handling semi-finished parts in shops where an overhead crane makes no sense.

04 / Frequently asked questions

Questions before ordering a jib crane

Answers to what you ask most often. If your question is missing, call us — we will advise you right away.

Pillar or wall-mounted crane — which should I choose?

If you have free floor space at the workstation, a pillar crane covers a larger area (up to 360° around the column). If the floor is taken but a load-bearing column or hall wall is within reach, a wall-mounted crane costs less and takes up no space. After a site visit we will recommend the better option.

What load capacity and outreach can you deliver?

We build pillar jib cranes up to 10 t capacity with boom outreach up to 12 m. A shorter boom and lower capacity mean a significantly lower price — that is why we size the crane precisely to your handling task.

Is a concrete foundation required?

Not always. Smaller cranes (up to roughly 1 t) can often be anchored with chemical anchors directly into a load-bearing floor. At higher capacities we design a concrete foundation based on a structural calculation, which is part of the delivery.

Can you install the crane into an existing hall?

Yes. Before installation we verify the load-bearing capacity of the floor or structure, design the anchoring and install the crane within one to several days depending on size. Your operation will not be down for long.

Which hoist comes with the crane?

We fit SWF ATHLO or CHAINster chain hoists as standard. Above 5 t capacity or at high lifting heights, an SWF NOVA wire rope hoist. Radio remote control can be added on request.
